My mission was to design admin features for the EC Scanner, which is currently only used by workers to clock in and out at their stations. This update aimed to let managers handle jobs and workers on the go, without needing to return to their office to use a desktop.

PROBLEM

Managers can currently only manage workers and jobs using our desktop web app, which isn’t practical when they’re on the floor. They often move workers to different stations verbally but forget to update the system, making it hard to track what actually happened.

SOLUTION

The existing scanner lacked a design system, presenting an opportunity to develop a foundational UI kit. Leveraging these components, I redesigned the scanner experience to support both worker clock in/out tracking and new admin capabilities such as managing jobs and reassigning workers across stations, ensuring more accurate and efficient workforce tracking.
